Loud 6x8s?

Are there any 6x8 coaxials out there that can get loud and take a good amount of power? I want to run a set of coaxials off my kicker zx550.2. The amp puts out 200 rms but i could of course keep the gain down. Im no longer into the whole sound staging with components and what not. I just blew the tweets on my ID CTXs and now i just want a cheap replacement. I just want it to be loud enough to keep up with my 2 12s running 1000 rms. Not too worried about SQ. Suggestions?

I am very happy with both sets of the Infinity 6x8's I am running in my sig they scream pretty well on about 80 watts each kept up with 3 12's on about 600 watts last season

Like gumby says, those infinitys get loud and sound good doin it. I ran a set of Kappa 6x8 comps up front and 6x8 coax in rear off a zapco reference 650 then later the comps off a zapco ref 750. According to the specs it said they were seeing 104w @ 2 ohms and they took it like a champ. Nice and clean.

They also have a -3db defeat for the tweets to soften them up and the tweets can be turned to help set up a stage. I have had 1 pair for 2 yers and the 2nd pair fora year and they still sound as crisp and clean as they did when I took them out of the box. I got them from Infinity on ebay for 49 bucks a pair. This guy has 2 pairs for sale for 46.50 each plus shipping

Ok sweet. I know what im buying next pay check! =P. Any idea why my ID CTX tweets blew? Amp gain was just passed guarter way up, lpf was at 100hz HU volume was at 33/50. They worked for 4 months then all of the sudden today both tweets blow out at the same time. I checked all connections and grounds and everything and all seem normal. Im clueless and would like an explanation before i just go and throw another pair of speakers in there and possibly blow them too haha

Could you run 6x9's. I have some hertz that get loud and still sound good doing it for $80 shipped

If both blew at the same time you were probably clipping the **** out of them

I just dont see how thats possible with the amp gain so low. I had lpf on, HU settings were all correct no loud or bass boost or anything like that was on. HU volume wasnt at the point of clipping either. Plus i coudnt hear any distortion.

Unless you set your gains with an o-scope there's a good chance it was clipping

Are you running these active or passive? If you're running active without a capacitor wired in, the amp turn on "pop" that some amps make can blow tweeters up.

Running them passive.. i think.. Using the crossovers that came with the comp set so yea passive. I dont get a turn on pop tho and they blew during a song that iv'e played hundreds of times on them.
