Indeed it has happened.

I have no crossovers. I'm running 3 1/4" horn loaded disco tweeters hot glued to the wiring under my dash... directly in sheer un-crosssed over unison with my Daytons.

so the daytons have nothing to supress the metal cones at high frequencies, and the horns have no protection against lows, and there is no way to level match the two?

are you planning to get crossovers?

Actually, with a little work with the EQ it sounds suprisingly good.

No, this is a temp setup until I get some real tweeters. Soon the front stage will be getting 100rms, maybe we'll run into some level probs there. But basically the "disco horns" are extremely hot sounding at 4khz, so bumping down the level at 4 khz makes them blend with the daytons quite nicely.

I dont think I have hardly any freq response from the daytons below 300hz. And the tweeters totally break up at a certian volume level.

I have to admit, your posts are pretty bold and entertaining. Not afraid to try, I like it!!

But why don't you use the 8454 xovers? And the 8454 has a graphic EQ???
