You'll get bored with a 4 stroke trail bike too fast (trust me it happened to me) and the racing four strokes (250f and 450f) are expensive and require a lot of maintenance. I started out on a ttr125, had it for 3 months then moved up to a yz125 2 stroke. 2 strokes are great because they're light, fun, cheap to maintain, cheap to buy, and the way they make power will never make you bored like a 4 stroke would.
