i received my box today that longranger had built for my hc 15. i bs you not it is a very well constructed ported box. i was cheap and didnt want to pay for carpet, but i'll do that later. anyway the box was well constructed. my hc 15 got really loud with only 600 watts. and i get NO port noise. i am gonna definately continue getting my boxes from him. you cant beat that. 75 bucks shipped for a quality ported box (ranger if you read this,dont go up on your prices).he had injured himself constructing a box for me and he managed to reconstruct another.

noobs remember, there are some talented guys on this forum. they are not out to screw you like many people at the local shops. kudos to all of the fellas who help guys out like myself who either have no carpentry skills, bad circumstances, or are just to lazy to build a box.

lol....you dont know what the port is made out of....is it circle or round if round either pvc or cardboard tubing or maybe something else....or is it square

hey slip. im a little absent minded now. go to general discussion and youll understand. its made of circular plast tubing. its a very well built enclosure. i DO know that. and slip, please dont test my intelligence. now isnt a good time. i am far from the most knowledgable, but i know enough and i am forever learning. i never built a box and ive only did minor installations (amps,speaker) since 1995. my forum name will tell what my #1 love is. but car audio is a close 2nd. that's my bio.

naw that's not me. im on a "hardcore" forum. even though im natural i have some freaky a$$ genetics that make people think im juicin'. im gonna post picks on the forum (not disclosed) on monday or tuesday because the guys dont think im 5'9 250 plus,low fat and natural. i guess ill post picks of my hc, box and amp on the same day. i have to use my girlfriend's scanner.

That box design (which I like to call the SQL-inator) is designed for extremely low port turbulance, and like you said, should yeild little if any port noise above the tuning frequency. The ports I used in the construction are duel 4" PVC tubes capped with standard 4" areo-caps. I usually prefer square ports, but for some reason this design fares better with round ports. You should see absolutely no bass-robbing box flex, as the top side of the box is double-baffled (this serves a double purpose as a mounting surface for accessories) and all the visable seams are sealed up with a thick layer of Bondo.

After construction of this box, I'm raising the price on this particular box design to $90 shipped.......that will cover me incase i make any more mistakes //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
