Local shops are worthless!!!

Maybe they should kill the building owner, enslave their employees and rob the equipment they carry from the manufacturer's warehouse.
You're pretty stupid, bro. No offense intended of course. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Guess I can't justify paying 350 dollars for a 200 sub when I can get a Beefy 15 or 18 that is 3 times as loud for the same price or cheaper. Sonic has overhead and employees too I'm sure. Call me crazy....

Technically if you buy a product that Sonic Electronix isn't an authorized reseller that is more shady than a local shop. Shops mark up is the same as any other brick and mortar company. You can buy pretty much anything cheaper on the internet not just audio. But do you buy EVERYTHING you own from the internet I highly doubt it.

I have a friend who literally buys as much of everything as possible from the interweb. I am not giving my opinion, just saying. He recently bought socks, chocolate, and oil filters from amazon. I try to buy as much as I can from local shops, but for me, when it comes to high dollar items I have no choice to either buy online, or forget about it.

they probably laughed at you laughing b/c I'm sure they probabl sell double digits of them a month....some shops even a week! Local shops and their prices aren't for us/everyone but there are plenty of people who will pay it simply b/c they "don't know any better"!
V.
I bet they will be laughing when their shop tanks.

Its tough because i have tried to support local shops but they refuse to work with you at all, my buddy was looking for a JL 1000/1 and all the local shops wanted a grand or more for it. He asked for a bit of a break and they almost broke his face for asking. He went online got a brand new JL amp for under $600, so while supporting local shops seems to be a good idea it can be bad for your wallet. When your saving 400 to 500 bucks on a single amp it only makes sense to buy online authorized or unauthorized IMO.
Local shops need to learn to work with customers, some people have the money to spend at full retail while others just do not have the money. When they refuse to offer any kind of discount off retail is when customers have no choice but to go online and supporting unauthorized dealers.

Sonic, for the most part, buys grey market gear at wholesale prices. That's why they're able to pass savings onto customers.

It's really quite simple, bro. Try to keep up...

I'm kind of the same way as your friend. It just depends on the item and how long I am willing to wait. I'm patient so I save a shit ton of money.

They still have overhead. They just have smarter business practices.

Yes, they do have overhead, but selling grey market gear allows them to rake in huge money. Local shops are privately owned, therefore most of them aren't catering to thousands of customers and can't afford to buy massive quantities of grey market stuff to keep in stock. Being authorized to sell equipment isn't cheap, as most companies require a specific "buy-in" if you want to carry their products. Shop owners are forced to pay the buy in and become authorized dealers. If they aren't authorized, they have to pay for warranty items out of pocket.

Think about this; Say a local shop buys a shit load of the RD 3250v.2 amps that were recalled on the grey market. This shop is then faced with dozens, or hundreds, of customers returning faulty amps. If the shop doesn't have RD to fall back on, they could lose their business as well as their home by paying for refunds and/or repairs out of pocket.

Understand please.

Thanks...

what i find funny is that sonix electronics has a you tube channel where they interview reps from Sony, maxxsonics ,and others and none of theses company's seem to have a problem with this unauthorized internet company selling there products for dirt cheap

Why would they care? Who do you think is selling Sonix their inventory?

It's really stupid that many of these companies cut the throats of the very shops that're carrying their gear. So it goes...money is money.
