Local HO alts>All

Just got back from the local high end Alt/electrical shop. Alternator had problems, guy took it off, replaced a regulator, and tweeked it. re-installed it and it worked great.

All for free. and It took less than 1 hour. I feel for you guys that are constantly sending off an alternator and half to wait weeks for replacements or parts. My advice to you is to do some research and find a local place that makes HO Alts, or sells them. Saves you a major headache

/gloat.

I feel ya, local shop told me they can build me an alt up to 250-300amps for $1per amp //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

That's why I had mine built locally. I got lucky and we have an alternator shop that makes and installs all the HO alternators for the Police vehicles and ambulences around here that need them. If I have any problems, I can take it back to them for repairs.

I found a place named "Bob Walter's Starter & Alternators" near me, I might have to call them and see whats up. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Should have told him you wanted a 2a alt... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

I was thinking the same thing after reading a lot of threads and nightmares with people sending alts back and waiting weeks to get them back.. While I could keep a stocker handy it would be nice to be able to just drop it off locally somewhere and have them do all the work if its gets farked up I think that might give them incentive to do it right the first time instead of halfassing which I see mentioned a lot.

I was looking for one around here, but I have yet to find one.

Yeah, your alt. seems like a great guy to deal with. I am still planning on getting him to help me out --- as soon as I get my new amp and sub up and going.

I could tell by speaking with him on the phone that he is a good businessman and is going to do well by word of mouth alone.
