The KDC-X990 offers MP3, WMA, and AAC playback, so you can enjoy the digital music that you've transferred to disc. Kenwood's "ACDrive" makes it easy to dig through these digital files and folders, with a voice guide that actually tells you the name of each file as you scroll by — you'll find your favorite tracks without taking your eyes off the road. The included software lets you encode your files to make them compatible with the ACDrive.
Motorized faceplate
The motorized faceplate features a high-resolution, animated display that's easy to see in all kinds of light — you can read system information at a glance. Kenwood's "Graphic Motion Analyzer" also showcases many of your vehicle's performance specs, including the forces generated during acceleration and turns, on the display.
A 4-band parametric equalizer offers four highly-adjustable tone controls that allow you to balance the sound to match your vehicle's acoustics. SRS® WOW offers three settings that bring out the bass in your music and create a convincing, 3-dimensional musical image — especially effective for making your compressed music sound full-bodied and lively.
System expansion
Three sets of preamp outputs send the cleanest signal possible to your external amplifiers. You can control your iPod directly using Kenwood's iPod™ adapter, or use the auxiliary input for connecting another audio source. The KDC-X990 will also control an optional satellite radio or Kenwood HD Radio tuner.
