I just recently got into these guys after coming to school. I finally got off my *** and got 3 cd's of theirs, and I must say, I love each one. Most of you won't like these guys-and that's cool, they definately aren't for everyone, but still give em a try.

if you like mars volta, you should listen to Circa Survive and mute math. All of them kind of have the same sound, IMHO. I love Circa Survive, anthony green from saosin and the guys from this day forward are pretty good. Check out mars volta's old band "at the drive in" they are ok.

I have De-Loused in the Comatorium (very very awesome cd) and Frances the Mute(I wasn't to impressed by it, it does have its moments though.

ya at the drive in is awesome too. the other two members of at the drive in who didnt go to the mars volta formed a band called sparta. they arent as good but i like em.

Mars Volta opened for A Perfect Circle when I went and saw them in concert. Mars Volta is quite possibly...no, almost definitely...one of the worst bands I've ever heard in my life.

Musically they were "okay" (at best)...but I wanted shit directly on the lead singer's face. It was pretty retarded...the majority of the song lyrics consisted of one word syllables.... "Hey. Yeah. Hey. Yeah Yeah. Hey Yeah Hey Yeah. Oooohhh Yeah. Hey". Not to mention the lead singer was bouncing around like an idiot to the relatively soft songs....

It was pretty pathetic. They looked like Jimmi Hendrix wannabe's too.

Anyways...I was thoroughly unimpressed personally.

THE worst I've ever heard would have to be Nashville Pussy, who opened for Marilyn Manson when I saw him in concert. They were absolutely god-aweful. I literally plugged my ears after the first song, and kept them plugged for the rest of their set. Words can not even describe how aweful they were. Only positive thing I can saw about them is that their guitarist and bassist were both females...and at the end of the set they started making out on stage and feeling each other up....so that was cool //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Yeah I'm not a fan.... deffinately a Love them or Hate them type band. musicially, they're extremely talented, and vocally, could you do that? doubt it, he sings in key, which is alot more than 90% of radio bands can do.

they all have been to secondary music schools.
