mine has 97k and hasn't had a problem yet, why do you say they are a peice of crap by 100k?theyre cool if youre down with it being a piece of crap by 100k miles
I still don't get why people have these generalizations about domestic cars. If you buy them used, then a lot of times it depends how well someone took care of their car and how well you take care of it.well i guess it makes a difference whether its city or highway miles, and how well taken care of it was
Im comparing to japanese cars, where all you have to do is oil changes and they run 300k
Ive had several domestic cars that start falling apart by 100k and are total junk by 150k
Im not trying to hate, i know lincoln is a G ride, they just arent built for the long run like Honda, Toyota, and Nissan. Then again, I havent ever seen a Japanese car with seats as comfortable as a Lincoln with leather so they both have their pros and their cons
You just gave an example of probably the most expensive, hard to work on, import sports car. That said, even with a thrown rod, that car is worth 3X what the S-10 is.I My 300zx shot a rod and my engine was worthless after that being they wanted 3200 smacks to fix it. Something ever happened in my domestics, it never cost anywhere near that! And I went to 6 dealers to fix my Nissan.
Out of curiousity, what other cars & problems have you had?I still don't get why people have these generalizations about domestic cars. If you buy them used, then a lot of times it depends how well someone took care of their car and how well you take care of it.
I have had close to 30 cars and have had plenty of imports fall apart on me with little over 100k miles on them. My 300zx shot a rod and my engine was worthless after that being they wanted 3200 smacks to fix it. Something ever happened in my domestics, it never cost anywhere near that! And I went to 6 dealers to fix my Nissan.
So it just depends. I had a 1991 s10 I bought with 82k on it and was super clean! Sold it years and years ago to my dads friend and he stil uses it for his work truck and over 200k now. Body is going on it, but runs like a champ and never had any major problems with it.
My point is, it just matters how well you take care of your shit.....unless you get a lemon from the get go.
I personally like to go NEW anymore, so I get a warranty and what not just in case. I have had to many cars take shits on me while buying used..........granted I have had plenty of good luck too.
Just depends.
s-10 > *; except Colorado. You just gave an example of probably the most expensive, hard to work on, import sports car. That said, even with a thrown rod, that car is worth 3X what the S-10 is.
