Lets talk lottery

everytime I walk into the local convenience store, I see nothing but the same black people everyday lined up at the lottery spending shit tons of cash for a piece of paper that wins them nothing in return. I see them buying scratch off tickets, even one ol black lady spent around 80$ in 4 minutes and won 20$ back. When do you think black people will get the message that the lottery is scamming them?

Because there's a chance to win big...just like gambling
Tickets for the lotto are a doller here, I play sometimes when it gets up to the $125 million mark
virginia lotto here is a dollar too. But still, whats the chances of them actually winning, they be competing against so many others

i buy 5 bucks worth of mega lotto tickets twice a week and play the same numbers every week. When i was 16 i won 500 on a 1 dollar ticket and have won 100 dollars quite a few times

Actually, it really does not matter how many people are playing. They are not "competing" against anyone but the mathematical odds. Only if someone else has the exact same numbers as you, are you "sharing" any potential prize. You have the same odds of winning if you are the only one playing, or if there is 10,000 playing.
