Nor should they either. Mods are human and impressionable just like any other member of this forum. To say ALL mods act responsibly would be a down right lie. Why give that kind of power to someone who MIGHT hold a grudge toward someone. Goob is the only one who should have banning power. A mod should however have the power to present a complaint about a member and request a banning. Then goob can look it over and after examining the evidence grant the request and the BAD member would be banned.
Granting immediate banning powers would be like giving a 5 year old the power to dictate his own bed time.

well it was stated later on in the thread that only certain mods should have banning powers. i think there should be a vote for which mods have banning powers. and at least a few of those mods should be the ones that are on here alot. i also think that in order for somebody to vote for a mod they should have at least a certain ammount of posts. i figure if you have 500+ posts youve been here long enough to know which mods handle things certain ways and should have a good idea of who would be a good mod and who would abuse their powers. i mean after all theres 1 admin, and like 26k members so the members should have some say so with this site. if it wasnt for the members posts this site wouldnt be what it is today. thats just my $.02 tho.

before some of you mods think im saying yall would abuse your powers, im not saying that im just saying maybe some will and maybe some want. we wont till till it happens.

i also think that in order for somebody to vote for a mod they should have at least a certain ammount of posts. i figure if you have 500+ posts youve been here long enough to know which mods handle things certain ways and should have a good idea of who would be a good mod and who would abuse their powers.

That's not true in all cases though. I don't have many posts, but I've been around here for a while. Even with only 400 some posts, I think that I could choose good mods to have the powers.

I think banning powers should be granted to me and removed from everyone else who has them (including Goob).

Then I could ban myself and come back with another username.

That way no one will have banning powers anymore and we'd be right back where we started pre nausea-inducing-picture-posting time.
