i bought one of these B/C i was always getting pulled over because of my exaust on my MR2. so every time i got pulled over i showed them it was under the 89DB limit at 4500RPMs.

is it legit to use for measuring sub woofer dbs?

You can use it to find your peak frequency. Or you could use it to hit somebody in the head.

I wouldn't trust it for measuring anything, even relative volumes by frequency.

See how many times you can throw it against the wall before it breaks.

If all of you think its pointless lern somthing about meters that meter can be hooked to a computer and you can use a progam called trueRTA for mesuring for sq that I just found out tonight and spl. It will allow it to read all the way up to 180 and it is ligit I ive tryed it out and it reads my voice the way it should I can talk at 60db and scream 110 on it so don't dog somthing you don't know about

you cannot use it to find a peak freq because it only goes to 3 significant figures. you can't use it for anything else cuz its max is at 126. i bought one once, absolutely pointless for car audio.

lol. you list your audio control score in your sig. that means absolutely nothing. same as this meter, it s*cks. i own both a radio shack meter and a termlab so just stop posting bad information.

man I don't want to make you mad but it will read past 126 if it is hook to a pc and yes the term is a better instument for spl and rta mesurments. but if you have the right program for that mic it will read spl and freguency. I will try to get a vid if my laptop will stay on long anough to read it. Oh by the way I also show the term score to, and I am not proud of my audiocontrol reading or term I know it sucks for a no wall van with only 3000 k going to them l7s, but it will do almost the same score with a wall with only 1000rms on them tuned to 45 htz.
