Late nighters

Since this is about the only active thread at this time, ill ask here... can anyone point me in the direction of a good credit card to start off building credit? I don't need any crazy rewards points etc etc..just a basic card that's easy to get with little to no credit score..
Get a secured card with your bank.

Bigger banks usually take more risks than small town or state banks. In most cases going with the larger bank would be the easiest to get but, a Credit Union personally is where I would prefer to start building a credit score at.

Yeah, that's the general answer I've gotten researching online also. I guess I could do a $500 deposit/limit deal. Basically will only use it for very small purchases ~100 a month max. Just need to establish some credit and have had 0 luck with getting store cards and things like that. Pretty much I have to pay someone to give me a card so I can establish credit to get better credit to get a loan. Lol

My employer is partnered with the local credit union, so that might be a good plan for me. I will look in to it. I have never heard of anyone having a CC through the bank I do business with, so not sure on how hard it is to get approved there. They denied me for a home loan, but another bank said I could be preapproved with just a small loan on my credit report.

What I would do is as stated is get a secured card and put small purchases on it. If you are ever late when you first start out you are fucked. Credit unions are great they have great rates and take many people. Research into them and see if that is something you may like.

Yeah I hear the local credit union is pretty good to people that work for the city. (Which is who I work for)

I was pretty proud of the fact I made it to 26 with zero debt...but now I must go in debt if I ever want to own anything. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

I will only use it for very small purchases or emergency situations and always within my means. I have enough "extra money" a month that I'm confident I can responsibly manage a CC. I know the consequences of not using it wisely also. I will check in to the credit union tomorrow and see if they can do anything for me. Thanks

Start with a low limit. Learn to be responsible with it first. Then ask for an extended credit line. I know way to many people that went out and maxed out as soon as they could. Best friend went out and bought a street bike on a 10k card. Idiot

Idiot indeed!. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif I'm not looking to gain material objects. I can purchase my basic wants/needs with cash. I need credit for a future home loan basically. There won't be any maxing out my card and paying minimum payments etc.. strictly small purchases that will be paid off in full each month.
