Lancer EVO X- DD2510 and DD M1a

This is my latest project.I wanted it loud but not use my whole trunk to do so.

It is also easily removable for track days.
How much weight did you add? It looks like quite a bit. The X isn't exactly svelte to begin with. Is that a second battery, or a replacement for stock?

I struggled finding a good sounding, lightweight sub for my IX. After auditioning a number of drivers/enclosures, I settled on a 33lb config. It's still a bit too heavy for comfort, though.

Sub: 23lbs

Amp: 12lbs

Box: 30lbs

Total: 65lbs

Yes it is heavy but it is LOUD.

My stock battery is located in the trunk.(stock batt. was already a red top)

What combo did you settle on?

Very cool. I didn't know that.

I use a very sensitive Blaupunkt 12" sub (~6lbs) and a relatively small 5/8" enclosure. Due to the sub's absurdly high sensitivity, essentially any size amp will do. I run a Zapco Ref500. The system is tuned solely for playing music. Next year, I'll probably go for a fiberglass enclosure that'll save another ~10lbs and get the box out of the trunk.

Looks good man to be honest though I would never want to add weight to an evo they were setup for the weight that is in them plus the driver and passenger. Looks good though.
Actually, the cars were setup for just the driver. As for the weight, a lot depends on where that weight is located. If we're talking rotational mass - ie, tires, wheels, brake rotors - a difference of a few pounds per corner is huge. Adding weight at the front of the car, like installing an unusually large intercooler, is also noticeable. OTOH, slightly shifting the car's balance by adding weight in the trunk can have beneficial effects on the car's dynamics. Similarly, when adding the weight into the spare tire well, as an example, its low center of gravity has a minimal effect on the machine's performance envelope. If you want to talk weight in an Evo, you found the right guy. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I agree with you. I hate adding weight to my baby. I did it for testing and demonstration purposes. I own a custom car shop and its hard to sell car audio stuff if you can let people hear it. I will be running this setup until I sell it. My car sits in the showroom all day and gets bumped.
