besides the rms is there any difference in the loudness or sound between the 5 and the 7

shouldn't be.. i'd just say b/c the l7 has differne't cooling options it might prolong its life if you're overdriving the subs.... but really they both ..

same mag, same same motor, just l7 has larger frame *so they say, probably don't, and it also has ummmm different cooling options as i mentioned above

i've heard both the L5's and the L7's the L5's aren't nearly as loud or clear as the L7's
