i'm about to buy a kinetik 800 off CL locally here for $100. i currently have a memphis PR1000.1D pushing about 1100rms and i'm about to have a JL 300/4 @ 75rms. i will upgrade to a bigger amp (1500-1750ish rms). is that kinketik 800 going to provide adequate power for my system?

thanks in advance

Sorry OP; have to ask //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif :

On the same note, would a Kinetic 600 help a similar setup? Or should i not even bother with something that size?

Should be fine.

Perform the Big 3 with 1/0 cable when/if you get the bigger amp. But I'd say do it now to make room for upgrades down the road.

Nearing 2kW RMS is going to be cutting it close though, it you have a big battery under the hood it'll definitely help as well.

When you go to run the bigger amp, add another battery just to be safe.

EDIT: I see that you have a relatively large alt and aftermarket battery.

What battery do you have under the hood?

Any bit helps, but I would go bigger //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Running off my 85 amp alternator and walking the fine line with voltage. Stays up around 14.2 mostly, yet some low hits will drop it, and i'm thinking a kinetic could buffer some of the strain on the alt. Agree, disagree?

It'll help. It's just a matter of how much you're spending on it. If you can spend 50 bucks more and get something better than thats I'd do, but it certainly won't hurt

I'm just scavenging through the classifieds checking for a 600 or 800. Ok my thread jack is over. Back to OP //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i don't have the aftermarket battery specs handy but the OEM alternator does crank out 150 amps. the new battery under the hood isn't a yellow top or anything buyt it definitely was a step or two up from the battery that came from the factory. i bought it about 6 months ago. i have 4 gauge from hood to trunk but will have 1/0 very soon.

thanks, seth

and a kinetik 800 for $100 isn't a bad price... agreed?
