How many different designs do they have for these batteries? Is this one an older version? The site I'm ordering this from has it as the model pic.

That's pretty cool right there. Never heard of that brand, yeah, it's pretty much the same specs, but a 1/4" bigger in all dimensions from the Kinetik. I plan on replacing my factory battery with one of these, and just running my system off that since I pretty much have no room for a second battery. I guess I could go the tool box route for #2 but that would be a huge head ache. For the most part, do you think this would fit in my factory battery tray? BTW the Kinetik I have my eye on is the same exact price as that one. Thanks for the heads up.

every 2 years kinetik changes the case design. they make racing batts too with red cases
That makes sense. If that's the case(no pun intended), I wonder how old these batteries would be, since it's the last design, and would it make a difference. I've seen the red batts on Ebay. The listing where I found this one had "KM-24 / HC-1800 MARINE BOAT / CAR READY ! NEW ! ". Should I stay away from that? lol, I mean, it is "Car Ready"

You may also want to look into the D3400... not as cheap, but much more reliable and most importantly more powerful //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif The Kinetik in the pic is a marine style version for boats.

Nice, just what I needed to know and that thing looks pretty good. I'm gonna check this out right now.

you can get a Kinetik HC1800 for $220 Shipped BNIB
They only decent priced ones I have seen have been on ebay. Is that where you're thinking I'd find one? I just need to make sure I stay away from the boat batteries, I dont plan on puttin my shit in the water. Some of them ads are confusing because in the description they will have the same model Kinetiks that go in cars.

They are both the same for the 3400's. This battery can do both deep cycle and starting duty, so the only difference between the two is the color of the label //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

That would be very nice of them...GM vehicles like mine use AC Delco batteries that have grooves built into the lower section of the battery case so special mounting tabs can be used to secure them into the battery tray. Nice idea but very few non-OEM batteries have this design. So, when I got my HC2000 and saw that it was completely square, I had to perform some "fabrication" to get the **** thing to not just fit, but to stay in place. Enter a scrap piece of pressure treated wood wrapped in sound deadening material (it's used to fill the gap between the battery and the firewall so the battery won't slide front to back) and two marine battery straps. Not to mention I had to hammer flat two tabs on the battery tray. Pain in the *** but I got it in.

I am curious if these cases will be truly vehicle specific. Any idea when the cases will be ready for market?

They are battery specific and give you more options as far as mounting goes. If your tray has a wide enough flat area it should be fairly easy to mount. As to a specific date I do not know what they have or do not have but you could always call them.
