Negative buddy. Myspace has many attributes that are valuable. It's a marketers smorgesbord of profiling information volutarily give out by those who set up myspace pages. There are lots of pieces of data that could be mined to plug into any matirx or algorithm of focus to geographically and psychographically target a given demographic.newscorp will sell myspace here shortly. There's no real money in it.

But if people don't click the ads, that is all worthless. Fortune or Businessweek had an article a while back discussing decreasing user activity, increased ads, and the issue of people clicking the ads at a lower rate than the standard interwebz.Negative buddy. Now, if you are saying they are selling to the data to see "what's hot", then you have a point. But those little ads are quite worthless."parania is just knowing all the facts, sir"
EDIT: Why do you think Newcorp bought it to begin with? It sure as hell wasn't advertising alone.
That information can be used for other things than just than just to focus internet advertising. People FREELY give (and just don't mean they don't get paid for it) out personel information about themselves and especially in this day in age, everything is a strategy. The more info you have about something or someone the easier it is to advance exponential tactics in order to achieve "end" result. The same rule applys for money markets which you know too, Flip. But if people don't click the ads, that is all worthless.
