Kick panels for 97 Grand Cherokee

I was wondering how hard these would be to make, my friend is pretty good with fiberglassing and builds good boxes too and I was looking for some of these to go with my 6.5 comps. If anyone has any they would be interested in selling let me know or maybe a guide with pics of their build, thanks alot! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

It won't be easy on the driver side unless you like keeping your left foot flat on the floor. I'm too used to just resting my foot there, kick panels wouldn't be possible for me.So, no guide.

But, best of luck.I have a '97 but I'm probably going to get rid of it really soon.

I couldn't drive my Jeep like that. I tried for a week to keep my left foot off the dead pedal, but it was Impossible.

Same with me, I was planning to do some kick pods soon but the idea of having my foot in a different position for that isn't worth it...just yet :p.

But if you still decide to do it. Have a circle piece of MDF, diameter of the inside length of the top speaker ring. Drill a 90 degree hole in the middle of the circle MDF. Insert a laser pointer, point the laser to your dome light or sunroof for imaging.

the passanger side houses the fuse panel. (in the 98's, dont know about the 97, im assuming its the same.)

unless you wanna cover that up. you might want to figure something else out.

put them in the stock dash tweeter location?
the last thing i would do is mount them above my head.
Yea I thought about that too but their right on the dash towards the windshield im not sure how hard they would be to replace but I could do it. I was looking to get some Diamond 6.5 comps.

that panel they are under pops right off.

should be easy cakes pie to remove and replace.

run the tweeter wire up the door jamb and under the panel. and make a little 1\3" wood panel to screw into the stock mounting location, and attach the tweeter to the wood.

should take you like 30 minutes for both.

Oh ok, thanks alof for your help. I guess Ill just put my crossovers inside the door because I dont really want to mess with the factory look.

You should definently have room for the crossovers in the doors. That's where mine are, wrapped in bubble wrap and electrical tape lol.I have them stuffed to the very front of the doors, works perfect.

And yeah, req brought up a good point about the fuse panel.Stock tweeter locations are fine, and don't take much time to work with.
