Kenwood x995 USB question

So I have a x995 and really like everything about it, except when I put it in USB random mode. I have 1000+ songs on a flash drive, but when i put it on random i'll hear the same song 3 times within 10-15 songs played. The random feature is terrible. Does anyone else have this problem? Would a different flash drive make any difference? Thanks for all responses.
