well I have a kenwood kdc-x979 and had aquestion about the volume!

I have noticed that on my friends alpine it gets loud when turned up to like volume 16 while for my kenwood I have to almost turn it up all the way to get the same results? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

are all kenwood like that??

haha, you didnt set your gains right

or maybe he didnt set his gains right

Nonetheless "16" doesn't really mean anything

all manufacturers have different volume numbers, haha, Aiwa's go up to 100 or something

Set your gains with a DMM, and call it a day

yea, I did..

I have amps for my fronts and one for the sub, set the gains with a DMM on both...

when im at like 16 its low, but when i reach 25-28 it pounds... but yea.... I guess your right all brands are different...

same thing with me, but it sounds good to me and amped its 10x louder than the internal amp feature:blackeye:

That's just how they are.

The volume's on a sort of curve.... The higher you turn the volume up, the more rapidly the volume increases.

It's to give you as much flexibility as possible in the quieter settings, for those early morning work commutes when you don't want to have a heart attack.
