KENWOOD KFC-XW1300DVC vs JL W7 13.5??

Well, considering the kenwood has less than half the displacement, you don't need to listen to the kenwood to know it'll get it's *** kicked by the 13w7. If you need to listen to the Kenwood to realize that, you don't know very much. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
the 10 MTX 8000 has about twice the displacement as one of my W3v2, but my JL will kick the shit out of the MTX (i own both these subs). Large displacement is the result of large motors and huge baskets. take audiobahn for instance, their chrome baskets are absolutely enormous and displace a ton, but most people will tell you they are sh1t. so dont accuse others of not knowing very much, when you obviously are misinformed and are passing it on.

PS, JL W7 = waste of money and a piece of sh1t. i hate them, i think they sound like ***. go with 2 w6v2s.

but anyways what part of that was wrong?
Uhhh, dude, he was refering to Vd not how much air the sub physically displaces in an enclosure. I think warbleed probably knows enough to not judge a driver by the size of the basket and motor (

The fact is that warbleed is right; then kenwood has far less displacement which will leave it at a disadvantage in output in a musical application.

Yep. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Gee Try looking at this web site review?

http://www.caraudiomag.com/testreports/0312cae_kenwood/

Rick recommended a sealed enclosure of 1.81 ft3. This is a gross enclosure volume, and not a net volume like most other manufacturers would give you. This means that I would not have to add the KFC-XM1300DVC's hefty displacement of 0.45 into it and that the enclosure was therefore a net volume of only 1.36 ft3. (By the way, the Kenwood KFC-XW1300DVC is now the record holder for the largest displacement of any subwoofer so far.)

Depending on the efficiency, it can play a large role on output as well, but with that being said the kenwood is pretty inefficeint from what ive heard from a car audio related magazine. They are supposed to have some tremendous low end though.

but me personally i'd rather spend 130 give or take on a alpine type r (dont say that much) or a 3004spl than that much on a kenwood sub....if i acccually have heard one and liked it i may consider spending 175 on it....but would definatly not spend 850
