Kenwood KDC-X895 Restarts When Pressing Buttons

Good Afternoon -

I have a Kenwood KDC-X895 which I installed a few months ago and am having issues with it. Every 5th or so button I hit (random buttons) restarts the head unit. The audio doesn't stop, but the display turns off, back on, then the Kenwood logo displays.

Besides replacing it, is there anything else it could be? I found that Kenwood offers firmware updates, but haven't found one for my model. I thought it may be a voltage issue too, but unsure.

I have it installed in a 98 Toyota Land Cruiser with Sirius adapter connected. I also use Bluetooth with my iPhone

Check your voltage first. I had this problem with my Kenwood x695.

Thanks -Should I just unplug the power to the unit and test the power source with electric meter? What should it be?

In the past I have cleaned the contacts between the unit & the detachable face with rubbing alcohol & a q-tip. This often solved the issues I had with the unit's display. I just made sure not to soak the q-tip, just a little alcohol, & to let it dry completely before putting the face back on.

the firmware updates are just for the bluetooth. To keep it updated with new phones.
