Kenwood KDC-MP735U vs Alpine CDE-9881

A friends sister has the Kenwood mp735U, new and will probably let me have it for $150. The other HU i was considering in the price range is the alpine 9881 or 9883. Which is better quality, the alpine or kenwood, and which is easier to use an ipod with?

alpine's are fairly superior when it comes to ipod controls. I dont have experience with kenwood though
