I bought a kenwood, wich is rated at 1700 watts peak power and 900X1 at 2 ohms, and bought it to power my 15" l5, do u guys think this will be enough for the sub to give all its got, right now i have it powering it by a audiobahn a8002t and it sounds pretty decent but not as some other 15" l5's ive heard, let me know wut u guys think??

thanks, Eric

Hmm....

I don't know where to start, besides telling you that beating the neighbor's system is a pipe dream. If your L5 isn't as louder as the next person's; a million different things including your car, box, amp, wiring, wire, head unit, alternator, interior, inexperience, or any combination of all of those could be working against you. You improve, so do they.

I do think you will find an improvement over what you have now. It's just my opinion, but while Abahn makes good amps, Kenwood makes better.

box is the same, my stero is good as his if not better, so the big question is this amp going to work, as of wut its rated at?? of if anyone has tried it?? cuz i know my 2 channel amp is not giving it wut it needs since sub doesnt bounce like its supposed too.

thanks

Yeah I have 2 P315D4's and was looking to getting the KAC-9152D. I dont want to make the mistake of not having a enough power. I have asked around and still havent got a answer. My friend has the kenwood excelon 1600 watt amp to 2 12" tornadoes and that shit beats hard in his single cab Ranger. I have owned kenwood home audio and was very impressed with sound quality and power output. I have been thinking about just buying the amp due to no reply.

Not trying to be an ass but rather simply stating fact...

Peak power output ratings on amplifiers/head units and input ratings for speakers/components/subs are an immaterial figure. It means nothing in reality to anyone outside of that particular company's marketing department executives.

Go with the RMS ratings to get an idea of the actual, usable output. Which voice coil configuration is your L5?

Your buddy's amp (which has to be either a KAC-X810D or a KAC-X811D unless it is the 25th Anniversary edition monoblock) won't do 1600 watts anymore than my KAC-X401M will ever do the 1200 watts peak output it claims. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Are your friend's tornadoes the eXcelon ones or just the 'regular' Kenwoods?

The Kenwood is rated at 900X1 at 2 ohms rms, and 1700 peak power and the sub is 750 rms, i knew that along time ago, i always buy by seen the rms wattage as u say, and the sub is a dual 2 ohm sub.

thanks

kenwood makes good amps my kenwood excelon beats the hell outta my 12in L7 at 2ohms //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif it beats ahrd as a mofo in a prefab ported box im a make a 3.5 cu ported for my new 06 L7:yumyum:

According to the specsheet I found the 9102D is not stable at a 1 Ohm load and your only other option with a Dual 2 Ohm driver is going to be wiring in series for a 4 Ohm load (500w @ 4 Ohms for that amp)

kenwood excelon beats the hell outta my 12in L7 at 2ohms
You're running that X521 bridged with a 2 Ohm load?
