Kenwood hu's With internal crossover

It would be a feature known as HPF, Or high pass. Look to see if you can find a site that would tell you, or if you have a store near by, try to play with the audio settings and see if you can find the HPF feature. Many Pioneers have this feature, if you want to try those just to understand what you are looking for.

even the cheapest kenwood decks have some sort of high pass

the cheapest ones aren't adjustable, but have preset hpf's for oem speakers, and different sizes of speakers

you tell it oem, 4.5, 4x6, 5.25, 6.5, 6.75, 6x9, etc.
