Kenwood Headunit - use bluetooth without built in?

My kenwood headunit doesn't have bluetooth built in but it does have a usb port.

My question is can I go usb port>bluetooth dongle>ipod?

A Bluetooth dongle is probably not going to work, but there's probably a Bluetooth adapter that will work with your deck. Look into the Kenwood KCA-BT200.

Phone on speaker through aux port... hands free, 150 bucks less than an adapter...

Let me make sure. I'm under the assumption that if a deck has bluetooth, that I can play music wirelessly. Is that correct? or is it just hands free calling?

I never got mine to do wireless music... I only had my phone work...

Alright thanks vaiboy. I also did some research and found that it is possible if you add this

Alpine KCE-400BT Bluetooth® Adapter Add hands-free calling to your compatible Alpine stereo at Crutchfield.com

So it is possible but bluetooth will cost $150. Not worth it imo.

The Alpine CDE-133BT has built in Bluetooth with audio streaming. It costs less than the CDE-126BT, but it doesn't have some of the other features like USB and only has one preout. I don't really know what features you are looking for other than BT but there are definitely other options.

actually it does have front USB. I think it will be a good entry level SQ HU it has 10 different EQ settings with a 3-Band Parametric Equalizer(Treble-Mids-Bass) for fine tuning. but yes it does only have 1 pre-amp out. the CDE-133BT is actually so new i havent found it anywhere else besides Alpines website.
