How is the SQ on this unit? Its on sale for $179.99....crutchfield has it for $300

Kenwood decks are good. If you want really good sound for SQ, then hit up a higher end Pioneer, like the 880. They can be had in the classified section here for around 200 or so. Very nice deck.

Honestly though I had a Kenwood KDC X-492 with 4v pre-outs and it did fine, but had to crank it up a good way compared to my 880.

Is a nice HU the one your talking about though. If you can get it for 179, then do so.
