Im lookin at getting one of the two...Is there a big difference between the 2, and what are they..which would you recommend.?

Yes there is a big difference. The x990 is better in every way except it doesn't have a usb input.

I'm very happy with my x889, so I'm sure you'd be happy with either choice.

I have an x889, last years model of the 890. I really had no reason to go to the 990. The 889 does everything I need it to and then some and sounds excellent. The only complaint I have is that the manual is lacking and that it doesnt hold settings when disconnected from power, but those arent a big deal.

Okay...well whats so different abotu the 990 to 890 I mean what woudl jsutify me to spend the extra 70 bucks to get it?

i miss Kenwoods flip around units. you don't have to worry about taking off the faceplate everytime you get in and out your car

Can you set an Ipod up on the 889? I found a few for sale and am thinking about buying it as an alternative to the PRS880
