Kenwood DNX571HD Firmware Issue/Question

Hi I have an Kenwood DNX571HD HU saw firmware update on Kenwood site show version 1.8.0 my radio shows 1.6.0 is the firmware update on the site show the version or just version of the update? How do I know if my HU needs an update? And the HU won't recognize the update unless I unzip the file from my laptop straight to USB drive
