Kenwood DNX 8120...... Nav. not working at all

I just noticed that the nav on my 8120 doesnt work as of late. I push the nav. button and it switches to nav but the screen is just black. The rest of the 8120 seems to be working perfectly except for the nav. I reset with the button on the front but still no luck.

Since the Garmin nav. on the 8120 is hard drive based, I'm wondering if the hard drive has crashed and left me with a black screen. I do get a scroll at the top saying "navigation" but it goes away after a few seconds.

I have a call out to Kenwood but was just curious what you guys thought it might be or if anyone has had a similar issue with one.
