Kenwood 7019 nav question

I have just installed the 7019 in my H1 hummer. I also put in the kna 510 for nav as well. When i pull up the main screen, the nav button is not highlighted. Am I missing something with my install. How does the HU read that the nav is installed other than the S-video type cable? Any help is appreciated.
