I already have fuze # 1 and 2 - both are 100amp fuze. ( all I have so far - not blown yet.....

what amp fuze rating should # 3 and 4 be?

do I need to do a run of 4 guage strait to the front batt negative terminal

from the neg of the kenetic in the rear storage ?

or is it good if I do a solid ground to frame ?

and what size fuze do yall think I should put on the + wires for it?

its going in line, from my alt / 120a - to my optima yellow top - power wire running back to new batt. fuze before batt + and fuze after bat + to amp.

what size fuzes yall think is good ?

and do I realley need to add the second fuze going from + on kenetic directly to amp ( 2 ft of wire )

If you have a full frame car and are only using 4 gauge the frame is fine.

I used two runs of 0 for the current install i am using an 800 in the back but it is probably overkill.

You fuse for the size of the wire. I think 4 gauge is somewhere around 125-150 amps but I am sure someone else can chime in exactly since I dont use much 4 gauge.

You should use two fuses on the positive run one within 12-18 of each battery. And if your amp has fuses it is optional to put on between 2nd batt and amp although I usually do anyway.

yeah - corvettes are made of fiberglass.....

so maby I should run a neg up to the batt just in case.

im pulling around 1800w total in my system.

posted pic up there ^

holy crap thats alot of fuzes actually....

First things first, batteries can transfer hundreds of amps of current immediately. They will instantly equalize their voltages as soon as they are connected. So even if your amps only pull let's say 50A of current, the batteries themselves can transfer much more instantly.

So proper gauge wire and fuses is essential. 1/0 gauge wire is highly reccomended. Always use fuses that are rated to match the rating of your wire. You will need 2 fuses on each POS+ battery interconnect that is longer than 18 inches. These fuses should be within 18 inches of the battery.

As for the grounds, you should always run a wire if you can between the batteries. You should use the same size wire as you ran for the POS+ connection. Only difference is you do not need to fuse the NEG- interconnect. Some people choose to use a frame rail instead of a wire and that has been known to work well.

The thing to be careful of is that most modern cars do not a have a single piece of steel that runs from the rear to the front. You will usually have multiple pieces of steel welded together to make your chassis. These welds add resistance to the ground, which can lead to many problems.

When it comes to choosing the correct wire for your install, you have to take in to account the amperage and distance to figure out the correct wire. There are many online tables to figure out which is needed. But to know really what wire to choose, you need to check the ratings from the manufacturer of the wire. If it is worth buying, they have a chart.
