Kangaroux's 99 Pathfinder

Was thinking of just mounting my bass knob on the side of the center compartment but I noticed if I brought my seat forward even a little bit it would come in contact with the knob. So I was thinking I would put one of the empty spaces on my dash to use, what do you guys think?

There is also a spot on the left side of the dash where my mirror controls are that I could put it at too.

looks decent. Not sure if theft is a major concern for you but the bass knob is something that can be seen that doesn't look stock.
Theft around here isn't a terribly big deal. If I have to go in town to do something, all the stores are in one area where as all the "questionable people" are in another area, lol. I think you make a good point, but at the same time my headunit may be more of a theft magnet than my bass knob. I'm going to look and see where else I can mount it cause I don't think in the dash looks very good

If you don't smoke or anything, that ashtray right above your cup holders on your center console would be really cool. You would just have to make a small square plate to fit over the hole, where your ashtray used to be, and you would even be able to close the top to hide your knob? Another plus, it would be right by your hand when your beating down the block and spot the fuzz and you wouldn't have to reachall the way up to the dash to turn the system down.

That's a really good idea, actually lol.

It sounds stupid, but I always go to my local Dollar Tree(or any super cheap dollar store) and hit the kids section and look for the flattest plastic toy I can find(hopefully in the color I want so I won't have to paint it) and cut the plastic a little smaller than the opening, and plastic-dip the edges of the plate all the way around. This way it holds tight and won't rattle but it won't scratch anything either.

This sounds good, I just wish I could picture it. What pic are you basing this off of?

And it's been like 6 months and I still haven't found a place I want to install my bass knob. It controls the gain so I really don't need to adjust it at all so I've kinda given up on it.

take the bass knob apart

drill a hole through the center of one of your blank off plates

stick bass knob through the hole

either find thin nut to screw on threaded part of bass knob that is now sticking through or use small ziptie and put the knob back on.

Looks factory.

I am doing it today on my Honda so I will snap a pic of what I am taking about if you do not understand.

I have done that many times and it works perfect and looks factory.

The way you were trying it does not correct for that nice truck...IMO
