He said he could get either the Kenwood or the Profile for $70 so I will assume he's buying used. No clue whether or not he's willing to spend more...The Profile amps are nice, but for the price range I'd go with a TMA T4002. Or try to find a Kicker KX350.2 or KX450.2 for sale.
The term "good" when applied to mobile electronics can be a very subjective thing.Profile makes a good amp? I don't know about now, but 10 years ago I wouldn't be caught dead with their knock off amps. Years ago, I have had some of kenwood PS/Excelon amps, they were decent amps. I don't know if I would another one, for the price I would rather spend a little more on a nicer amp, but I know the motto nowadays is a 'watt is a watt'
it was in a Crutchfield Magazine.Where are you getting your output ratings from? The Profile California-series AP1000 is rated for 160w X 2 @ 4 Ohm stereo with a 14.4vdc input from the info I can find.
I've never been aware of Profile's amps being rated with only a 12vdc input?
That being said - it's a half-dozen on one and 6 on the other. The two you've listed are pretty comparable amps (though the Profile is slightly larger in size if that's of any consequence to you) so go with whichever one fits your overall install better.
That's why I put the words "The Profile amps are nice" in there. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gifHe said he could get either the Kenwood or the Profile for $70 so I will assume he's buying used. That's weird because if you look at the product specs on their website it clearly states input voltage as 14.4vdc.it was in a Crutchfield Magazine.
I just went to their website and where in their website should i find this voltage? I know that in the the magazine it had 12.5 volts @ the lower wattage rating. That's weird because if you look at the product specs on their website it clearly states input voltage as 14.4vdc.
But okay. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
