K vs A.

I know I have asked a lot of ?s lately about this but this is the final 1.

15a vs. 2 12ks

I listen to rap mostly so I am looking for more SPL, I am sure I will be happy with th SQ of either sub.

12ks= ported box tuned to 25 hz. in 1.5 cubes, will be 2 seperate boxes, 400rms+ each

15a= ported box tuned to 30hz. in 2.2 cubes 800rms+

will be in trunk of '97 taurus facing backwards.

I have a feeling this thread will help a lot of people. So lets not waste time bashing eachother, and post up your opinions.

Personally, I'd go with the 2 K's...

Thats close...a real close call.

The A's are unreal, but I think I would probably go with the K's if that was me. Though it would take me a month to come to a complete decision lol.

heres my thinking.

Ks more cone area.

A more Xmax.

neither being pushed to their limits brings that to tie area.

Ks two ports only a bit smaller than than the As 1 port by them selves. together the Ks have more port area as well as more cone area. Ks should more more air. Which in my mind should make them louder. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I am not very good with determing tuning Freq. and the site has blue prints for a box tuned to 25 hz. should sound nice and prevents my from f'ing something up.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

No not just like that. u should check out all the other posts i have posted on this subject. It took mmy like 3 weeks to decide just between the 2 ks and the 1a. i would get the K's but because i like the idea of idea a pair of subs rather than just one. just an opinion.

well of course kiss your 2 k's *** good bye. more cone area + more x max=a much louder set up. i kind of rather have the single A since it would take up less space and still get plenty loud
