K or O ed's?

Is there really a huge difference in the K series and O series? I want to get two 10's and I'm thinking of going with the K's because they are a bit cheaper. I only want to run the nine.2X which would give them 300rms each (exactly what they ask for.

Thanks for the two cents,

Justin

O's suppose to have better SQ and handle more power

I think you will be fine with the K's

what are you into? SQ or SPL?

if they are the flatcone, get eaither one - they will both be great, the o is better than the k.

if they are the NEW silver eD subs, just buy a pair of image dynamics ID10's.

I was looking at the current models that are being sold on Ed's website. I am into SQ more than anything else. I was looking to run a combo from them. I've gotten a few recommendations for ID10's as well. The Image dynamics sound better (sq) than the Ed's?

Where can I get prices on RE? Do they offer any SQ? I'm really not interested in SPL. Of course I want it to hit if I turn it up, but honestly that won't be very often.

I'm looking for the best bang for my buck, pun intended //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Thanks again,

I recently upgraded from a 13Kv2 to a 13Ov2, and can say that there is a huge difference in output. I am feeding it around 700 watts, and it loves it. SQ is night and day from the Kv2, sub blends with front stage much better, makes music more transparent, and opens up the soundtage quite a bit. Low end output is awesome, way more low end extension, and output with the really low stuff. It seems to do 25 Hz with zero effort, and sounds clean doing it.

I'm using the exact same 1.1cu ft sealed box that I had the Kv2 in, and nothing else has changed except the woofer. 3 year transferrable warranty can't be beaten either. Id subs only come with a 2 year warranty, and they're all Backordered anyways.

**Edit** I just googled, and did find a few websites offering some ID products in stock, guess it's just Sound domain that's OOS.

Just when you think you got it all figured out someone comes in with real world testimonials LOL...I'm confused again. You said you were giving them 700, each? I am looking to go with 300 each. Still better off with the O's? For some reason image dynamics, although well backed, seem cheap to me. I don't think I can get that out of my head.

Thanks,

Justin

ID is an excellent company.

I have a single 13Ov2 getting ~700 watts off a Nine.1 @ 2 ohms with gains turned way down.

If all you have, or all you want to give your subs are 300 watts each, then I would recommend the Kv2s. If you are able to give them more power, the Ov2s like anywhere from 450 to 700ish rms each. IMO, A single 13Ov2 in a properly designed box, off of your 600 watts would absolutely crush just about any sub in it's price range for sheer sq and output.

BTW, I wasn't trying to say that id stuff is cheap at all. I just think the warranty isn't as long, or as flexible as eD's warranty. SQ wise, they may sound similar, don't really know as I have no personal experience with id stuff.

Get the 2 kv.2s with the nine.2x will qualify you for the discount package.

I myself have 4 9kv.2s and am pretty happy with them. eD has pretty close to an unbeatable price vs. performance ratio.
