I've got a '94 Honda Accord LX, I had a stock radio in, but i just bought a JVC KD-S52 which came with a Aftermarket harness thing (Scosche brand or w/e). So I plugged the Scosche connector into the factory harness, then made a connection to the wires on the new head unit using wire nuts. I'm sorry but this is the first time I've done this, and I can't think of what I'm doing wrong. I can't think of any more information to give you, but feel free to ask me questions.

Thanks,

oh and....I put my stock HU back in for now just to have some tunes. Two weird things have happened...The clock isn't automatically lit up and it starts at 1:00 every time I start the car. Also, I've re-programmed the presets since I put it back in and they reset every time I start the car too.

Any help would be appreciated, I'm sure I'm just missing something real simple.

One more thing....the ground wire - do I need to plug that into a terminal or w/e and put it under a screw or something?

OK...I THINK I fixed the problem. I've still got my stock radio in for now, but somehow the "radio back up" fuse was blown, possibly because when I had the JVC head unit hooked up initially, I made a connection from the stock harness to the JVC head unit with just electrical tape and it was real loose, so I'm gonna try hookin my new head unit in tomorrow or tonight. Also - when installing the radio - is taking the negative terminal off of the battery necessary? This might have been another reason for that fuse blowing, I'm just not real sure, I'm kinda a newbie at this electrical stuff.

Anyway, point of the story is - I replaced the 7.5a fuse and my clock is now working along with the presets on the stock radio, so I'm happy for now! I was thinkin my live connection (12v) wire was dead or something, so I'm quite relieved.

Wow, well thanks for the help people. Jeez! Nah, but this thread can be closed. I figured it all out and I now have my JVC head unit workin. Chyuh!

I know, I just thought "Hey - I can look to the forum for advice" but I ended up figuring it out myself, so it hasn't been of any use to me yet. I thought people RESPOND in forums, most other forums that I'm a member of do respond, but I guess my topic just wasn't interesting enough. Oh well. :p

and I'm not stupid enough to replace a 7.5a fuse with a higher rated one. :p
