So the positive nut on my alternator became stripped (yes I ****) mainly because it was turning the bolt the nut was attached to turning the + wire from the battery too and I didn't want to damage any wires, I have a stripped bolt/nut remover I'll most likely use once I buy a new one;

I've gone out and bought the right sized bolt but the thread should be the same right? Just wanted to make sure before doing so.

Also my engine blocks ground from the stock wire is way in some stupid area under the engine, does it have to be there? or is there another area of the engine I could put that big 3 wire?
