Just orderd the SAZ 2000d sundown

i keep hearing mixed thoughts on bats, and alts.

Idealy idl ike to just put 2 yellow tops in there. one up front, and one in the back.

A friend who i met thats used to do comps told me to use and isolator, and that alts could possibly burn up my HU. obviously i take everyones opinion in, but im not sure who to believe.

im not pos what i want to run on this amp. im think 2 or 3 m5 mj 18's or 1 SD nightshade 18 or 15, or an aq 18 or 15. duno. so either 2 or 1 ohm.

would 2 yellow tops be aight?

a low volt. drop could harm the amp correct?

word, never really looked into those.

oh i forgot, they really can add more watts to a system up to 1,000 more RMS!

it said that on a package of a power acoustik amp i saw one time, i laughed...

does it change the sound?is the z15 a step down from the nightshade? obviously rms wise
Not noticeably - it is uncommon for a coil impedance change to dramatically alter T/S specs. If you check the Nightshade page it is posted for both coils and they are quite similar.

The Z15 handles less power - but is a better sounding driver. Made more for daily and less for SPL competition than the Nightshade.

Yikes I just ordered the SAZ2000d also. I was in all honesty 1 day away from ordering the AQ2200d. Hope all the raves are correct!!

In before the next "me too!"

What vehicle do you have? I would either do a HO alt with upgraded battery under the hood. OR upgrade the batt under the hood and add a second in the rear. Go with the biggest you can under the hood, and if you need a second one grab another identical one. Make sure to fuse right before and after that battery in the trunk as well (if you get one). I would do the big 3 under the hood. You will need to do it regardless if you get a HO alt.

You do not need an isolator if the batteries are identical. Also HO alt's will not fry your Head Unit:laugh: And don't go with Optima. There are much better batteries on the market for the money.

You are correct, low voltage will harm your amp. If you don't upgrade your electrical, you will kill that amp. A single run of quality 1/0 gauge wire will be perfect.

Do not choose your fuse size for power wire according to your amp, fuse it according to how much current the wire can handle safely.

yup already did the big 3, in 1/0. i was looking into powermaster 3400.

and i think id rather do the 3400, that way i could do 2 identical batts. how terrible would it be to use the stock batt in the back just temp untill i got another 3400?

i drive a chevy silverado 1500.
