my son is Autistic (7 years old)...we blaime it on the Imunization Shots when he was a baby.... he was perfectly happy and normal untill that first shot then he got a dull lost look to him and the smile went away anyways we have a tutor (special needs worker ) that stays with him in school (he is in a normal school) and he is adjusting well...we find that being around other kids helps him in a big way..his speach is getting really good and his smile is back...a very happy kid but he still has the normal Autistic freak out once in a while..he is also a friggin genius with anything electrical.. this kid could re wire a TV it's not a bad thing....although it can cause stress ..no matter how frustrated you are with him at times keep your cool and try to keep a good mood around him I noticed that my son absorbs what ever mood I am in at the time Jenny Mcarthy has some really good books on Autizm..I suggest reading them and no matter what any doctor says DO NOT MEDICATE..... nothing good ever comes from medicating a learning mind....there is no substitution for hands on help and care...emotional help (friendship) towards him will do better than any pill feel free to contact me and ask anything on the subject....I know from personall experience how frustrating it really can be
