JL12W0 and JL12W3

The answer to your question isn't deeper, but harder. Basically the only difference between the W0 and W3 is that the W3 has higher power handling and a little bit more excursion, but they both have around the same frequency range. As for the latter question, I still give the same answer, not deeper but harder due to power handling, but in this case the HX2 (either punch or power) can take more watts. Hope I could help! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

so your saying that if you put the same amout of power into the w0, w3, and hx2 punch that they will basically sound the same?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Almost the same, but they get a little bit louder in order of W0, W3, HX2. You will get around the same frequency range from all three, but you will be able to feel the bass more in the order I just put above, due to the increasing max watts rating of the subs.

is there really that much of a difference between the w3 and w6

if you go to JL's website and look at their recommended RMS Power Rage Chart, the 12w3 and 12w6 are practically the same.

All I have to say is DON'T go by their power chart. You can put WAAAAAY more in a W6 than a W3. You can almost double what the JL power chart says. Right now I'm putting 400 RMS into a 12W0 and it eats it up, been running strong for 5 months now. Definitly if you have a little more $, go with the W6.

I just purchased two JL 12W3's last night and have them running off my

Lightning Audio S1.1000d. According to the wiring charts off of JL's site

wiring the 4 ohm voice coils in parallel presents a 2 ohm load to the amp.

With the way I have it set up, that would give me around 500 Watts RMS

into each sub and boy are they eating it up. They sound great and hit even

better!!

I'm giving mad props to JL now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Oh, just as an additional note, JL's site says these subs take 250 RMS!

I have 2 12w3's and I traded in my hx2's for them, and frankly it was the best trade i ever made. I think the JL's are a much more efficant sub and sound much better than the hx2's. I have a RF 500a2 on each of my w3's and they love the power, but im sellin those to get a 1200.1 for them.

hmm...i dont really think a 15w6 will be comfortable with arounmd 900RMS up it, compared to a 15w3. the w6 is a more sq sub than the w3, thats why people, in most cases i have seen, tend to use the w6 as an sq option and buy 15w3 to cain the sh*t outta them and still have good quality sound.

I have a small car that only can handle 1 12 inch sub,,

I made the choice for the Kicker s12l7-2 and a kx1200.1 kicker amp to power it..

In my case do you think will be better to run the JLs???

My sub is 750 rms and my amp can deliver 1540 rms at a 1 ohms load..

my sub will work in parallel and the 2 ohms of each voice coil will be 1 ohms too.

so my sub will see all that power,,,,do you think was a good choice???

Thanks Tuca
