Jl W7 12" Vs Image Dynamics Idmax 12"

o.k. we got a debate... i like the idmax and my buddy has got his heart set on a W7. he likes little mix of everything... rock, metal, and rap. to me the idmax sounds clean as hell and will crank when you want it to. i've owned both. to me the W7 has a real tubby sound. i had the w7 box in a factory spec shop built box. the idmax didn't get as loud but it sounded alot better. i know sound is a prefrence but i'm trying to steer him away from main stream. currently he has a jl 1000/1 to push whatever sub he decides to run with. tell me what y'all think. idmax or w7... thanx

oh, it's going in a 2000 silverado single cab- it will be put in a center console box. he's currently running with one alpha sonic 800 series 12" sealed

id go with Idmax, I personally don't like the SQ of the w7 much at all to be honest. I much rather the w6.v2

i agree with everybody else. I have had a w7 and now i have a w6v2 this is in a 350z not a truck, but it does have better sq and pretty good spl as well.

Get the JL just cause everyone is telling u to get the IDMax and its not gettin thro to ur head. Hell I'm gonna say IDMax too but ur gonna get the JL so it doesnt matter

ID Max is the way to go not to many people around me have ever even heard of them but when they hear them they always ask about them. Tell him to be different every knows JL.

Car Audio school??? Where the hell is that... What does it consist of, what does it prepare you to do???

Either way, it seems if you guys are in school for this then it shouldn't be a real hard choice for him... I mean, he should know, right?
