some explain more about this for me, if i wanted to keep my stock HU and still be able to use the steering wheel controls, i would get this (to use an aftermarket amp and speakers with) ?

You would have to use the cleansweep volume control but I believe the LC8 and 3sixty.1 allow you to use your HU volume control.

how do these things hook up to my factory HU? is there any difference in sound compared to getting an aftermarket HU with RCA outs? the RF ones are too expensive, so its either JL or Audiocontrol

If you're dying to keep your stock HU because you like the look and layout, then the CleanSweep is a viable option.

IMO, any decent aftermarket HU around the same price point as the CS will leave your stock HU in the dust in terms of SQ and features. Hell, there are $130 Pioneer and Kenwood HU's out there with features that beat the shit out of my VW's factory Mon-sewage HU.

Clean sweep will do it.

It's a great LOC, Sound reconstruction, and Line driver.

I know you've probably got some experience with these things, so in your honest opinion, would the price of the CleanSweep+amps+speakers be as effective a route as going with new HU+amps+speakers?

I dunno. I feel for the features in aftermarket HU's within the same price point, the factory HU+CS doesn't stand a chance unless the person really wants to keep that factory HU. Hope that made sense.

i bought a panasonic CQ-C7413U, 170 shipped on crutchfield. cosmetically, its just what i wanted. black with orange lights to match my dash. plays mp3s, etc, and is ipod ready, which is what ill mostly use. i think ill like it.

i didnt like the fact that with the JL CS you have to adjust the volume on that and you cant use the volume control on the factory HU. wtf, why use it?

now i just gotta get the tang bands, a kicker zx850.4, and ill be done with my front stage. then to put all my stock system from the mini on ebay as a package deal //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I'm wondering the same thing except add an EQX-II to an LC8 would that be just as good as a decent aftermarket HU?
