JL 13 w7 or 2 RE xxx 12's

I am lookin into buying either a JL 13w7 or 2 RE xxx 12's. Which would any of you recommend. I already have a 12 w7 and have heard some 13's so i know how good they are, but would 2 RE xxx 12's with a good install be louder and have decent sound quality?

Man, 2 12XXX's would hand the 13W7 it's *** in SPL. However you going to need the power to push them. To push them decently you will need like 2000 watts rms to get them both moving. If you can give them both the power they need it will be golden.

The SQ should be up there or close to that of the W7. The SQ will be more then decent.

If I were you I would go with the dual 12XXX's. I mean you comparing the 2 12's to a 13. The W7 is good but it isn't that good.

I'd do 2 12" XXXs before one 13W7.

Two JL 1000.1 would put out the full 1000 watts to each, probably more, but you can probably get comparable power A LOT cheaper. JL is very high quality but very expensive. If ED is still selling it you could probably get 2 Tsunami 1800s for less than the price of one JL 1000.1. Good luck!

GO with RE XXX and get an power house amp like an u.s amp or an earthquake amp. U just need amp thta is really going to push thoes subs.

OK I GOOOOOOOTTTTTTT IT go with an CROSSFIRE VR1000D or VR2000D. THat will 4 shure do the tricks.

A pair of XXX 12s and a 13w7 have about the same amount of linear displacement, but the 13w7 has far more linear suspension travel.

Given adequate power, they should be roughly equal.

The 13w7 is going to require more power than the XXX 12s to reach the same output level.

People foolishly assume that two 12s will outdisplace the 13w7, only because of ignorance of its capabilities.

The 13w7, with ADEQUATE power, will embarass most 12s. In this case, the two setups being compared are roughly equal, but you'll pay a lot more on average for a pair of XXX 12s than a 13w7.

The single ported 13w7 will require less space than two ported XXX 12s, and cost less.

If you have a large enough amplifier, the 13w7 can certainly be competitive. So basically, which do you want to give up? Space and money, or amplifier power?

Er... you already have a 12W7, so why not just get another one? That will certainly give you plenty of power output.

I find it a little hard to believe a single 13w7 could even touch two XXX's, but why wouldn't you just buy another 12w7 anyways???

i dunno about xxx but jl is the best out there but **** there high........... i would get the 13w7 myself jl is a good name and xxx is kind of new and stuff so stick with the winner........

yea I've heard both a 13w7 and a single XXX 12" and i'd say that was more equal let alone 2 xxx 12's which wud kill the 13w7.. I'd take 2 xxx 12's over 2 12w7's for spl... but both are awesome

My guess is that you most likely use JL, but just because something is new doesn't mean it can't be way better than something that's been around a while. As far as JL being the best out there, definately not. Good yes, the best, no.

i dont think many will argue with the fact that the W7 is one of the best SQ subs out there at the moment.
