JL 13.5W7 or 2 JL 12W6v2

I went to local car show this Sunday and fell in love.

I currently have 2 Audiomobile Mass2012 subs hooked up to a Rockford Fosgate 2002 1000.1 BD. I was ashamed of these subs once I heard the JL's

I don't wanna add another amp to my system, as much as I would love too. I'm just trying to get a pair of subs to replace my current one's. I was thinking of a JL 13.5 or 2 12W6v2

What do you guys think?

i have never heard the jl 13.5 w7...but what ive heard is that the SPL on that sub would be good but not the SQ. i have 2 12w6v2's and i love them. i havent talked to one person yet thats heard the w6v2 and the w7 and thinks that the w7 is a better deal. i say go with the w6v2's...you will get better SQ and i believe better SPL too because of more cone area. I thikn you will be happier. Im very happy with mine now and i got mine in a small prefab box until i finish building my own box.

What kind of SPL can I get out of two 12W6v2? I want around 140-145

that is very easily reachable if you have the right enclosure...ill try to bring mine into the shop sometime this week and get mine tested and ill let u know

One more thing...in the SPL contest what's a good CD to get great numbers.

saying 140-145 is easy is a stupid thing to say no offense b/c it isn't always easy to predict what people can do as far as #'s go in SPL. with a 1000.1 RF amp it might be possible depending on the car. oh and for a great spl song get the chef aid southpark soundtrack, the sailing away cartmen song has great SPL for over a min.

I would say go get a Bass Mekanik cd.

have you ever heard the song i'm talking about on a system?? if you haven't go listen to it, i've heard like 5 dif. bass mechanic cd's and i have a iasca i think that's what it is DB cd and the cartman has more bass for that 1:15 that the bass lasts.

i said 140 could be reached with the right enclosure....i was stating taht those numbers are very possibly reached with those subs.

All I hear is good thigns about the W7, I've only heard an 8W7 and it got stupid loud for such a small sub... the W7 has great sound quality. The only thing I ehar that the W6v2s have on teh W7s is upper end extension. Either setup will get plenty loud for a daily setup... neither would be great for competing.

And for SPL comps, you don't run rap songs... try some 60-50hz and 50-40hz, sweeps and some test tones. And you gotta tune rediculously high and will sound like ass.
