Think about it this way. What are the specs for a sealed box? about 1 cuft. Ok but you have a  ported box which should have about 2.25 cuft. If you completly seal off that port its like if you have ur sub in a 2.25 SEALED box. That is way off from 1 cuft right? If the towel doesnt completly seal it, it will just mess up the tuning, area, etc and probably sound real shitty.</p></blockquote><p></p>
