Jazz Lover Wants to Build a Good Systems

Please Help, I want to build a good sound quality system to listen to Jazz pretty loud. I don't want to blow the windows out just hear every subtle sound of the music. I do have a good back ground of knowledge to learn this quickly. I really do only want one 4 channel amp, 100-300 RMS per channel minimum, I want a minimum of four speakers but don't want a hunking box taking up cargo space. Basically I am a fair researcher so what I want is direction. What amp, speaker, head unit makers should I look at and which to avoid? anyone have links to how to articles.

It really depends on how much you are willing to spend, and how high end you want to go. There is so much out there. Can you work with your own drivers and manage an active setup or would you prefer a passive componant set?

Things I would check out: All this stuff is in the High-Mid range.

I would personally reccomend checking out a Clarion HX-D10. For how cheap you can pick them up these days, you can't beat the SQ for the price. Probably would have to pick one up used though.

Just a basic start. But should get you somewhere for your search.

anyways bro, just do a search on the various speakers and amps that the market has. also a budget would be nice.
