Useing the optical out of the w200 would I be able to control the volume out of the 701..? Anyone know for sure..?

why would you want to?

when you have a 701, you use it more than the headunit. in fact, you arent supposed to use the headunit at all cept for changing CD's and radio stations. i dont know why they just dont make a 701 controller with a **** CD player in it. would make life so much eaiser.

the 701 is what you are supposed to use to change the volume. the 701 is awesome as hell, but the downside is if your deck cant FULLY controll it, then you virtually need the C701 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

the iwa-w200 is a video screen that can control it without the seperate controller //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I want to know if the fiber optic out of the deck will control volume which I do not think it will, or does the AI net into the deck manage volume..?

only the multi media decks can fully control it...ibelive, I dont think the 9861 can control it though, even though it is a DVD deck.

I have a PXA-H701 with the C701 controller. I am using a computer as a head unit with a digital audio cable feeding the H701. I can control my volume both through the pc and through the C701........so yes, optical audio transmits volume commands to the H701. Hope this helps.
