It looks like my family stole a truck...

hmm... too bad these didnt have the third can. I would snatch one up for my reef tank.
Yeah. The three-barrel ones are intense. These thigns are still good. (or so I hear.) My brother's really into coral reefs and such. I just build his stands and the like, and go "ooh-ahh" when he gets new Coral.

Well, this isn't the same thing as those little purifiers. Those leave traces of minerals and such. This completely turns it into pure H2o. Every impurity in the water is filtered out.

My brother's going to use a few for his fish tank. There are other... less legal ways you can use these things for, too.
well i was talking about one of those things with the 10gal drums of water you replace or refill when empty.

a refill is only 1.25 here.

the biggest mistake you made was stating how much you paid for them

NEVER tell buyers how much you paid, just show them the lowest retail price, give them a better deal and they will buy

Oh, word.

When my brother was telling me about these, they're supposed to be WTFAWESOME. But, I honestly couldn't tell you the difference between that water and the water that it filters. (Maybe Groundpounder can shed light.)

wow you ****, if these were $40 it would be a better deal
why not try to help other people out?

you basicaly got those for free
Dude, they aren't mine. They're my brother's.

And for BNIB, $75 shipped is a deal. Just because of the price he got them at, it doens't mean he should vastly reduce the price. Yes, he's getting a lot of profit if / when he sells them. But, you're still getting a good never-been-opened product for cheaper than it retails for.

Haha. This wasn't a buy thread.

It was just telling you guys.

Then people asked how much so I told them how much my brother was selling them for.

They strip tap water of any pollutants and trace elements (lead, mercury, arsenic, phosphates, nitrates, Calcium carbonate, etc.) and give you pure H20 with a GH and KH of 0 if its working properly. This gives you a clean slate to work with in a fishtank so you can add whatever chemicals you need to alter the water's characterisics without being at the mercy of the tap. Tap water is very inconsistent between sources and many things can alter its content.

On a scientific and biological note...you actually WANT certain minerals NOT metals left in the water.

All RO systems leave water acidic, and this is bad //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Pure H20 should have no Hydroxide or hydrogen ions (or atleast equal amounts of each) thus giving it a neutral pH of 7 but it is extrememly susceptible to any pH change because it has no buffering capacity. A little baking soda will set you straight 528hz
